THRILLER STARRING LIAM NEESON GETS UNEXPECTED TITLE CHANGE AS RELEASE DATE CONFIRMED

An upcoming action thriller movie starring Liam Neeson has seen both its release date announced as well as a surprising update - a brand new title.

Formerly known as "Hotel Tehran", the project will now be known as 'The Fix' after being re-named and is partly set in Iran, featuring an ensemble cast. The movie is directed by Guy Moshe and co-written by Moshe, Mark Bacci, and Ron Hutchinson.

Neeson's action-thriller follows Neeson's character, Larry, and Zachary Levi's character, Tucker. It centers around a group of former CIA operators as they attempt to pull off a daring rescue in the Iranian capital, Tehran, in a bid to redeem themselves after a failed Afghanistan mission.

“The Fix was born from a long-standing desire of mine to put audiences inside the chaos and moral weight of war, not just the action of it," Moshe said. "Working with an ensemble cast that was entirely committed to our cause, led by Liam and Zac, who set the tone, allowed me to push the story into deeply human territory while still delivering the visceral, large-scale filmmaking this genre demands."

The movie will be distributed by Inaugural Entertainment, which heaped praise on the "sophisticated" action flick. "We are thrilled to bring The Fix to wide theatrical audiences as a cornerstone of our fall slate," the company's founder and CEO, Kevin Weisberg, said in a statement.

"Guy Moshe has crafted a propulsive, incredibly sophisticated action thriller that demands to be experienced on the big screen." He added: "I am thrilled to be working with Kevin and Inaugural on this, and can’t wait for audiences to experience it the way it’s meant to be seen — on the big screen.”

Weisberg described the casting as a "powerhouse" ensemble as he promised viewers would be on the edge of their seats throughout the movie. He continued: "Anchored by a powerhouse ensemble in Zachary Levi, Liam Neeson and Quincy Isaiah, the film seamlessly balances intense, edge-of-your-seat spectacle with real emotional stakes."

"It is precisely the kind of high-caliber cinematic event that we are proud to champion," added Weisberg. The flick is slated to premiere in theaters on September 11th this year.

Title changed from original 'Hotel Tehran'

The title change comes amid the U.S. and Iran's ongoing war after the U.S. and Israel struck the Persian state on February 28th. While international efforts of diplomacy have persisted, a recent ceasefire came to an end as President Donald Trump declared their agreed peace deal was "over."

With the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz and Iran's nuclear weapon commitments a major barrier in negotiations, the long-term future of the conflict remains unclear. The movie, likely filmed before the escalation in the Middle East, coincidentally contains the name of Iran's capital.

The title change seemingly represents an attempt to distance itself from making a political statement.
