Family Guy has long been one of television's most popular animated shows, now heading into its 23rd season. It hasn't been given a live-action adaptation at this point, though a new video going viral online imagines what it might look like.
Posted to YouTube by Multiverse of Movies, a concept trailer for a live-action Family Guy movie has been created with the help of AI. This includes AI-generated imagery and voices of famous Hollywood stars in the roles of the various characters of Family Guy. It's not exactly a realistic cast, given how it includes Jonah Hill, 40, in the role of Chris Griffin, as well as 41-year-old Mila Kunis playing the live-action version of her character, Meg Griffin. Late actor Adam West is also featured portraying himself, though the beloved Batman star sadly passed away in 2017. The trailer may still be interesting to see for Family Guy fans, and it can be watched below.
Family Guy will be getting multiple holiday specials coming to Hulu in 2024.
Aside from Hill as Chris and Kunis as Meg, there are many jother characters from Quahog, Rhode Island, imagined in the AI trailer. This includes The King of Queens star Kevin James as the Griffin family patriarch, Peter, alongside Elizabeth Banks as Lois. Meanwhile, Rob Schneider is playing a version of Brian Griffin, though this is more reminiscent of Wilfred, as he appears to actually be a man wearing a dog costume. This may be a reference to Schneider's reputation for always playing particularly bizarre characters, as seen in movies like The Animal.
Other imagined cast members include Griffin Banks as Stewie Griffin, Craig Robinson as Cleveland Brown, Regina Hall as Loretta Brown, Adam Sandler as Glenn Quagmire, Dwayne Johnson as Joe Swanson, Steve Carell as Tom Tucker, Tina Fey as Diane Simmons, Paul Rudd as Jonathan Weed, Jordan Peele as Judge Q. Blackman, Jared Leto as Jesus Christ, Bai Ling as Tricia Takanawa, Seth Green as Mort Goldman, and Bill Murray as Herbert.
From Peter and Stewie Griffin to Brian and Quagmire, Seth MacFarlane voices nearly every male character in Family Guy. But which role is his best one?
The Multiverse of Movies channel has been releasing other AI-generated concept trailers for popular cartoon shows. Other videos which have recently gone viral include trailers for live-action movies made about The Simpsons, South Park, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. None of these titles are expected to be given live-action adaptations anytime soon in reality, though perhaps the point of these kinds of AI-generated trailers is to imagine events which are unlikely to happen in real life. At the least, the selected cast members would probably be quite different.
The real cartoon show is still going strong, and it's not showing signs of stopping anytime soon. Family Guy will return with the premiere of Season 23 on Oct. 14, 2024.
