‘MURDER IN BOSTON’ EARNS THREE EMMY NOMINATIONS, INCLUDING A NOD FOR BEST DOCUMENTARY

“Murder in Boston: Roots, Rampage, Reckoning,” the documentary on the Charles Stuart case presented by HBO in association with the Globe, is nominated for a trio of Emmy Awards this year.

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced its list of nominees for the 45th annual News & Documentary Emmy Awards on Thursday, which celebrates works by journalists and documentarians. “Murder in Boston” scored three nominations, for best documentary, outstanding crime and justice documentary, and outstanding editing for a documentary.

The three-part series on the 1989 Stuart case was produced and directed by Jason Hehir of Little Room Films, in association with the Globe, and is rooted in reporting done by the Globe’s team of journalists for the “Nightmare in Mission Hill” series, as well as the accompanying “Murder in Boston” podcast.

The winners of the News & Documentary Emmy Awards will be announced over the course of two nights this fall, with news categories revealed on Sept. 25 and documentary categories celebrated on Sept. 26.

Both ceremonies will start at 7:30 p.m. and will be streamed live at watch.theemmys.tv from the Palladium Times Square in New York City.
