DOMINIK MYSTERIO TURNS ON RHEA RIPLEY, COSTS HER THE WOMEN’S WORLD TITLE

WWE opened its SummerSlam premium live event tonight (Sat., Aug. 3, 2024) at Cleveland Browns Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio, with Liv Morgan putting the women’s world championship on the line against the woman who never lost it, Rhea Ripley. Dirty Dominik Mysterio loomed large, with fan speculation running wild that he could do the unthinkable and turn on his Mami.

Sadly, that’s exactly what he did.

Ripley was all over Morgan early, the tide only turning when Morgan sent her into the ring post and the challenger could be heard saying her shoulder was “out.” She sold it like hell until she went full blown psychotic and charged into the announcer’s table to put it back in place.

Big pop from the crowd for that.

They went back-and-forth from there before repeating the spot after Morgan went and grabbed a chair and brought it into the ring. Ripley went for it but Dom grabbed from her, telling her she can’t because she would lose out on the title.

Morgan tried to use the distraction to hit her finish and end the match but Ripley kicked out!

Except this time, Mysterio ran around, got on the apron, and caused a distraction so that Morgan could hit Oblivion on the chair still in the ring. He could be seen smiling as he turned the other way, with Morgan getting the three count.

After, he did the unthinkable — he kissed Morgan on the lips and walked out with her over his arm, Ripley left in the ring to cry and scream in pain.
