CAVINDER TWINS MAKE WWE TELEVISION DEBUT AS PART OF NXT CELEBRATION

Haley and Hanna Cavinder got the star treatment as they made their WWE television debut as part of NXT.

The former Miami Hurricane hoops standouts lifted up Thea Hail on their shoulders in the ring after she won a battle royal to become the number one contender for Tiffany Stratton’s NXT women’s champion on Tuesday night.

NXT play-by-play man Vic Joseph made note of the 22-year-old twins being in the ring.

The two had signed NIL deals with WWE in December 2021 but they recently chose to forgo their senior year with the Hurricanes to pursue a pro wrestling career.

Haley, Hanna and WWE teased their appearance on social media prior to the show.

The twins posted a pre-show photo of them in the ring at WWE Performance Center in Orlando with Cavinder written on the video board behind them as well as a video of them making an entrance — standing back to back — from the main stage.

“You may see your new fav tag team in the right tonight,” the caption said.

NXT’s social media account later posted a video of them arriving in a building with “Look who it is…” written over it.

The TikTok stars, after transferring from Fresno State, helped lead the Hurricanes to the Elite Eight last season — but wanted a new challenge.

“We love the WWE. Their fanbase, the sport, the fitness side of it that fits Hanna and I’s brand and aligns great with us,” Haley Cavinder said in April.

The sisters were at the center of the NCAA’s first NIL punishment levied against Miami over a dinner the twins had during their recruitment with prominent Hurricanes booster John Ruiz at his home in April 2022 as it was deemed “impermissible contact.”

The two were recently enjoying some time at Paw Paw Lake, in the southwestern region of Michigan, for some summer fun.
