WEST SIDE NUT CLUB FALL FESTIVAL VOTED BEST IN THE COUNTRY BY USA TODAY READERS

EVANSVILLE — The West Side Nut Club Fall Festival is once again the best fall festival in the country, according to USA TODAY readers.

The local festival, set this year for Oct. 7-12, topped the list in the USA TODAY/10Best's reader poll, beating out events in South Carolina, New Mexico, Ohio and other places. It won the honor in 2023, as well.

Bringing more than 200,000 people to Franklin Street on Evansville's West Side each year, the event is one of the largest street festivals in the United States.

Locals and transplants alike flock to Franklin Street to fill up on fried food, enjoy carnival rides, listen to music on the main stage or watch one of the multiple parades.

This year's Munchie Map was released last week, featuring hundreds of food choices from more than 130 non-profit booths.

These 20 festivals — nominated by an expert panel — deliver all of that and more during the fall season.

The West Side Nut Club Fall Festival was one of 20 finalists selected by a panel of experts, and then that group was narrowed to 10 by the public.
