The Fourth Wing TV show is in good hands.

The forthcoming Prime Video adaptation of Rebecca Yarros' bestselling 2023 fantasy novel will be developed by Michael B. Jordan's production company, Outlier Society, and the actor has teased what fans can expect from the highly anticipated series — including a few hints about the cast.

Jordan, 39, told the BBC that he intends to cast a mix of newcomers and established actors in the show. "When it's done the right way, I think you can have a nice balance where casting won't be distracting," he said.

Recognizing how fans of the book will already be so invested — and have their own versions of what the characters look like — Jordan said that the casting will include "no obvious choices."

"So just know, it's nothing cheesy coming out," he promised. "I think it's going to be something that feels honest."

Jordan played coy about the chances of him joining the cast, though, telling the outlet, "I don't know" when they asked if he was considering joining the fictional world of dragon riders.

The Sinners star said he's always wanted to "explore other parts of the industry and other parts of our business and other parts of storytelling" as his career has grown. "It's been something I've been wanting to do for a long time," he explained.

Last month, Jordan told Deadline that he's aware of "how beloved this franchise IP is" as he discussed the adaptation. “We are making sure that this is going to be [an] exciting show that delivers on all of the things the fans want and some of the things that they won’t be expecting either,” he said.

“We’re diligently… We’re in the lab, we’re cooking up. We got it. It’s coming," Jordan teased. "It’s early stages, but I feel how much people care about this one. It’s not lost on us."

In October 2023, just six months after Fourth Wing's release, Yarros announced in an Instagram post that it would be coming to the small screen. "They're an ABSOLUTELY incredible team, and I can't wait to see their adaptation of Fourth Wing brought to life! I have all the faith in the world in them!" she wrote in the caption. "Words can't portray just how excited I am and how grateful to work with such amazing people!"

Yarros is an executive producer on the series, alongside Jordan, and she provided a long-awaited update on the TV show last year during a release party for Onyx Storm, the third book in the Empyrean series.

"I've read two versions of the script now," she told fans in a clip posted on TikTok. "And I was scared, I was super scared to read it, because I think when you hand somebody your baby and you say, 'Tell me what you think is important in here,' you're kind of like, 'It's all important,' and I kicked my feet the entire time. I love it."

She also praised showrunner Moira Walley-Beckett as "amazing." She said, "Moira's done such an amazing job capturing everyone's voice and the dialogue that you guys love and just the energy and spirit of the book that I am ... I could not be any happier."
